How laundry pickup and delivery works in Lekki

Between traffic, work and everything else Lagos asks of you, a Saturday spent washing, drying and ironing is a Saturday gone. That’s where a laundry pickup service comes in: you hand over the bag, and it comes back clean, pressed and folded.
If you’ve never used one, it can feel like a leap: where do your clothes go, who handles them, and how do you know they’ll come back? Here is exactly how it works at WashAmClean, step by step.
Who can use pickup and delivery?
We collect from and deliver to Lekki, Ajah, Victoria Island, Ikoyi and Oniru. If you live somewhere else in Lagos, call us and we’ll tell you what we can do, or drop your laundry at our shop at Zonta Plaza, 8 Kusenla Road, Ikate-Elegushi.
The shop is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 9pm, and Sunday from 12pm to 9pm.
Step 1: Book in about a minute
Go to our booking page and tell us:
- What needs cleaning: wash and dry, ironing, dry cleaning, rugs, trainers, or duvets and bedding. Choose as many as you like.
- Where: your area and pickup address.
- When: a day and a time window.
- Who: your name and phone number, plus any notes (a gate code, a fabric you’re worried about).
You confirm the booking on a secure form, and we contact you to confirm the time. No account is needed. You can also chat with Wami, our website assistant, or simply call us.
Pickup windows
| Window | Available |
|---|---|
| 9am – 12 noon | Monday to Saturday |
| 12 noon – 3pm | Every day |
| 3pm – 6pm | Every day |
| 6pm – 9pm | Every day |
Step 2: We pick up
Our rider collects your laundry from your door at the time you chose. Put everything in one bag, empty the pockets (pens and lipstick are the most common culprits for ruined loads), and set aside anything delicate or valuable so you can tell us about it.
Step 3: Your order is logged and sorted
When your laundry reaches us, it is logged against your name and phone number. Then it is sorted into loads by colour and fabric before anything gets wet. Whites stay with whites, darks with darks, and delicates are set apart.
Step 4: Washed, dried, ironed and folded
Each load goes through its own wash and dry. Shirts, native wear and anything that should be pressed is ironed, and everything is folded neatly or hung, ready to go straight into your wardrobe. Items for dry cleaning follow their own process.
Before packing, every order is checked for quality.
Step 5: Track it while it’s with us
Every step is recorded in our shop system as it happens: received, sorted, washing, drying, ironing, folding, packed, then ready or out for delivery. You can see exactly where your order is at any time on our tracking page, using your order number and phone number, or by opening the tracking link on your receipt.
Step 6: Delivered to your door
When your order is ready, it comes back to you folded and packed, or you can collect it from the shop if that suits you better. You can view your invoices online in our customer portal.

Why people in Lekki use a pickup service
The appeal is simple: time. A full load of washing, drying, ironing and folding can easily take a whole afternoon, and that’s before you factor in power cuts, water supply and the drying space a small apartment doesn’t have. A pickup service turns all of that into a ten-minute job: bag it, hand it over, and get it back ready to wear.
It also helps with the things that are hard to do at home:
- Big items like duvets, blankets and rugs, which need larger machines and lots of drying space.
- Native wear and suits, which need careful pressing or dry cleaning.
- Trainers, which are easy to damage in a home machine.
- Busy weeks when the laundry basket overflows before you get to it.
What to put in your bag (and what to keep out)
Send: everyday clothes, work shirts, native wear, bedding, towels, duvets, trainers and rugs. If you want something dry cleaned or only ironed, choose that service when you book and mention the items in your notes.
Keep out, or tell us first:
- Anything labelled “do not wash” that you haven’t marked for dry cleaning.
- Valuables, cash, jewellery and documents.
- Items with loose beads or stones that might come off.
- Anything soaked in oil, paint or chemicals.
A few common questions
Can I mix laundry and dry cleaning in one pickup? Yes. Choose every service you need when you book, and we’ll separate the items when your order is sorted.
Can I change my pickup time? Yes. Get in touch as early as you can by phone or through Wami on our website.
What if I’m outside the five areas? Call us to ask what’s possible, or drop your laundry at the shop.
Tips for your first pickup
- Empty every pocket. Coins, keys and pens can damage both the clothes and the machines.
- Point out stains. Add a note when you book, or tell the rider, so they can be treated first.
- Keep delicates together. Put silk, lace or beaded pieces in a separate bag and mention them.
- Check care labels. If something says “do not wash”, tell us so it goes for dry cleaning instead.
